> The sample should be drawn when the oil is in circulation and through sample cock. Sample cock provided on the discharge side of the LO oil pump.
> Before taking the sample oil a sufficient amount of oil should be drained out to clear the line.
> The sample collected to the cleaned container provided by the sample test lab after it is rinsed with the sample oil and immediately closed.
> Following details should be attached to the container
Engine type & Number, engine running hours , LO running hours , fuel used , draw off point and date.
Note: Draw samples from a connection that comes directly out of the main oil supply line to the engine. Always Take the sample from the same point. Sample only when the oil is up to its operating temperature with the engine running.
