Starting Air Valve Leak Testing 

• There are two methods to test the leakage of starting air valve in main engine.
• 
  

First Method

• >Close the air valve to  the starting air distributor 
• >Give an air kick to the main engine 
• >Monitor the propeller shaft. if it's rotating, means starting air valve is leaking. 
•

Second Method   

• >Close the air valve to the starting air distributor   

    >Put cloths over all indicator cocks.

    >Give a kick to the main engine

    > Clothes should not come out from any of the indicator cocks if it comes out it implies leakage in that valve.
